This site is run by Charlotte, a UK-based mum sharing what she has learned about money and side hustles. I take your privacy seriously and only collect what I need. This policy explains what I collect, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
Who is responsible for your data
I am the data controller for this website, mumsfinancialfreedom.com. To contact me about your data, message me on Instagram @mumsfinancialfreedom.
What I collect and why
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address (and first name, if you give it) when you join my email list. I use it to send you tips and updates. The legal basis is your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- Contact forms: the details you enter, so I can reply to you.
- Comments: the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser details to help spot spam.
- Basic site data: like most websites, our hosting records technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, for security and to keep the site running.
Who I share it with
I never sell your data. It is processed by services that help run the site:
- Hostinger: hosts this website.
- MailerLite: sends my newsletter and stores the email list.
- Pinterest and Instagram: I link to my profiles there. If you click through, their own privacy policies apply.
Cookies
This site uses cookies that are needed for it to work and for caching to make pages load faster. Embedded content and links to other sites may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate or referral links, so I may earn a small commission if you sign up or buy through them, at no extra cost to you. The companies I link to have their own privacy policies and I am not responsible for how they use your data. Please read them before signing up. See my Disclaimers page for more.
How long I keep your data
Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Comments are kept until I delete them or you ask me to. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to reply.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or object to how it is used. You can withdraw consent to emails at any time. To make a request, message me on Instagram @mumsfinancialfreedom. If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
This site is written for adults and I do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
