Ad: some links on this page are affiliate or referral links, so I may earn a small reward at no extra cost to you.
Real, legitimate ways to get free cash or rewards for things you were probably going to do anyway, like switching your bank account or shopping online. No work from home schemes, just straightforward sign-up bonuses and cashback.
I’m not a financial advisor, so check the current terms with each provider before signing up. Full disclaimers.
If a link has expired or isn’t working, message me on Instagram @mumsfinancialfreedom and I’ll sort it.
Banking bonuses
Digital banks compete hard for new customers, which means real cash bonuses just for opening an account and using it a little. You can open accounts with more than one digital bank and claim each bonus separately.
Monzo
Sign up and make one card payment within 30 days to receive a reward. Offers have ranged between £5 and £100 previously.
Starling
We can both earn £25 when you open a Starling account. You need to open an account with my code and set up a direct debit in the first 30 days to be eligible. Download their app and use my referral code: VVD7KXB. T&Cs apply.
Cashback
Get something back on spending you were doing anyway.
Jam Doughnut
Check out the Jam Doughnut app. Get instant cashback from the brands you already shop with. They also have daily competitions where you can win real money! Use my link to get a free sign-up bonus with code YGPV.
TopCashback
Get a percentage of your spending back when you shop online through their links, on things you were buying anyway, like holidays, insurance and everyday shopping.
Quidco
Another great cashback app. I’ve found it tracks cashback quickly.
Rakuten
Cashback when you shop online. New members get a £25 bonus after spending £50. Check the current terms before signing up.
Investing and mortgages
These are bigger decisions than a cashback app, so please read the terms and think carefully before you sign up. I’m not a financial advisor and this isn’t personal advice. I may earn a reward if you join through my links.
Trading 212
Ad: New customers who join through my link can get free shares, worth up to £100. What you receive and the value can vary, and eligibility, a minimum deposit and other terms apply. Offers change, so check the current terms on Trading 212’s site before you join.
Capital at risk. The value of your investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you put in.
Sprive
Ad: You buy gift cards for things you already pay for, like your groceries, and the cashback you earn goes towards overpaying your mortgage. Check whether your lender charges early repayment fees before you overpay, and read Sprive’s referral terms.
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.
A tip for stacking these
A good starting combo is one banking bonus and an ongoing cashback site. That gives you an immediate one-off win plus an ongoing background income stream from cashback on spending you were doing anyway.
Bonus amounts and terms change often, so I’ll keep this page updated. Always double-check the live offer on the provider’s own site before signing up.
